The vacuum sewerage system is an environmentally friendly solution, its investment costs on a flat terrain are up to 40% lower than that of a traditional gravity system due to the shallow trenches.  Operational costs are also advantageous.

Where vacuum canalisation is especially advantegous:

•         Flat terrain

•         High groundwater table

•         Rocky or loose (desert conditions) terrain

•         High density of public utilities

•         Narrow streets

•         Isolated and long, "one-directional" towns

•         Villages separated by a river
