| How does it work? |
|
The four main elements of vacuum sewerage systems is the vacuum station, the vacuum mains (vacuum pipework), the collection chambers with the vacuum interface valves and the gravity services from the houses.
The welded polyethylene pipework laid in shallow threnches is connected to the collection chamber (connected to the vacuum pumps) in the vacuum station, thus the pipes are always under vacuum pressure.
In average 4 properties are connected through gravity services to each of the so called collection chambers. The sewage flows into the collection chambers and is regularly sucked into the vacuum mains whenever the vacuum valve opens.

The Iseki-Redivac vacuum interface valve does not require any electricity for its operation! The valve is controlled by the liquid level in the sump and is driven by vacuum. When the surface of the affluent in the sump reaches a certain level, the valve fires automatically using the energy of the vacuum and the sewage starts moving rapidly towards the collection chamber in the vacuum station because of the pressure differential between the pressure of the pipework (0,3-0,7 bar absolute) and the atmosphere. The sewage is transported from here towards the sewage treatment plant with the help of centrifugal pumps.
